It’s great to be a part of something. When I joined Stampin’ Up! I was fortunate to find a lovely up line in my friend Sarah Marwood – over at Stampin Art To Heart – and in turn I became a member of her up line, Zoe Tant’s team, The Tantalizing Stampers. Two years on and I am branching out and building my very own team of fabulous stampers and we are known as The Paper Hearts.

This month the Tantalizing Stampers have clubbed together and created a fabulous SPRING blog hop for you to enjoy. I love a bit of blog tourism and seeing the different ideas others have with the same theme.
Our theme is – yes you’ve guessed it – SPRING!
For me that means light colours with a few popping brights. The Needlepoint Nook suite from this year’s Spring/Summer Catalogue was perfect in my eyes, with it’s gorgeous Crushed Curry yellow, delicate Balmy Blue and pop of Berry Burst – I chose these as my feature colours in this project.
I created a simple shadow box card in Crumb Cake card stock and decorated it with a Crushed Curry matt. On the front I used my favourite print from the Needlepoint Nook DSP and mounted it with a die cut Stitched Rectangle decorated with Blends splatters and a big popped up sentiment from the Lined Alphabet stamp set and Layering Alphabet dies in Balmy Blue. To create a neat closure I used the Whisper White Organza Ribbon (but you could use the Sheer Ribbon for a close match while stocks last).
When you open this little box up you get the full impact of the surprise inside! A lovely shadow box picture of a robins nest full of speckled blue eggs. This is what I think of when I hear SPRING. I created each egg by splattering some Early Espresso ink (from a Stampin’ Write Marker) on some Balmy Blue card stock and then punching out five of the smaller sized balloons from the Balloon Bouquet Punch. I then simply rounded off the air hole to create oval shapes, just like little eggs. I created the nest with the Sprig Punch, layering each sprig until I was happy with the nest. Some scrappy strips of DSP help to decorate as do the beautiful flowers from the Needle And Thread stamp set, which I stamped and die cut with other elements.
A last piece of DSP glues to the inside of the lid finishes it nicely. You could add a piece of Whisper White here to write a sentiment, but I chose to leave it for now. The card props up nicely and forms a cute home decor piece for a shelf or desk, but you could house a sweet little gift inside and send it as a gift box/card. I like its multiple uses and I shall be testing the template out with future designs I think.
I hope you are enjoying your spring so far – gosh we are almost into the summer! All the products I have used are still available while stocks last until May 31st, so if you would like some of them then do head over to my shop and pop them in your basket before some of them disappear for good. I have enjoyed Needlepoint Nook and will be sad to see it go, but I am very excited about all the new products we have waiting in the wings too.
